Description
The Sea Shell Motel was built in 1958 and sold in 2018 which then became the Sun Shine Motel. The motel got a paint change from yellow to orange and the Sea Shell Motel sign was taken down and disappeared. The Sea Shell Motel sign was one of the first motel signs you saw when you drove down Rio Grande in Wildwood. The iconic neon defiantly glowed all during Hurricane Sandy in 2013 when the island was evacuated which was a comforting sight for the locals who rode out the storm. Just another example of a long-lost piece of Americana Art.
