Description
With an overall length of typically 3 inches and a wingspan of about 4 inches, this is Britain's largest dragonfly species. Mainly seen over large, densely-vegetated ponds, shallow lakes, canals, large ditches and slow-flowing streams, this beautiful insect flies for long periods of time without resting.
